Adrak Ka Shorba

Adrak Ka Shorba

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves 4.


Ingredients:


1 1/2 cups peeled and roughly chopped ginger (adrak)

1 tbsp jaggery (gur)

1 tsp garam masala

Salt to taste

1 tsp black pepper (kalimirch) powder

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)

1 tbsp mint leaves (phudina)

1 tbsp ginger (adrak) julliennes for the garnish



Preparation Method:

Boil 5 cups of water in a pan. Add the ginger and cook for 15 minutes.

Strain and retain the ginger flavoured water while discarding the ginger.

Boil the ginger water in a deep pan and add the jaggery, Punjabi garam masala, salt, black pepper powder and lemon juice and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

Serve hot garnished with coriander, mint leaves and ginger juliennes.
