Malpua
PREPARATION TIME : 20 mins
COOKING TIME : 30 mins
SERVES : 10
INGREDIENTS
MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk ½ tin (200g)
Sooji 100g
Maida ½ cup (50g)
Salt pinch
Saunf 1 tsp
Warm water 1 1/3 cup (200ml)
Baking powder a pinch
Paneer 50g, finely crumbled
Oil for shallow frying
Sugar Syrup :
Sugar 1 ½ cups (225 g )
Water 2 cups (300 ml)
METHOD
Sugar Syrup
1. Put water and sugar in a pan and bring to a boil. Keep aside.
Malpua
1. Mix sooji, and warm water together and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
2. Add the MILKMAID, maida, salt, saunf and baking powder and mix well.
3. Add crumbled paneer to the above mixture. Beat well.
4. Heat oil in a flat frying pan (for shallow frying – only 1 to 2 mm layer of oil). Pour 1 ladle of batter to make a small, flat malpua about 2-1/2”- 3” in diameter.
5. Fry till both sides get evenly browned and the edges crisp.
6. Remove and soak in syrup for 1/2 minute.
7. Remove from syrup and serve hot.
